Teaching Assistant – Fixed term

Hours: 1 position for 25 hours per week with MTA role attached of 5 hours per week

Contract: 39 weeks per year

Salary:  Connect Grade C3  

Fixed term:  02/11/2026 to 31/08/2027

We are looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team at Thornbury Primary School.

This rewarding role involves working with children across all key stages, primarily within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and may include 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with an interest in supporting children’s language development, and who can bring a nurturing, patient and inclusive approach to learning.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience of working with primary-aged children, including in EYFS
• Be flexible and confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis if required
• Show enthusiasm for helping children develop their communication and language skills
• Demonstrate a nurturing and supportive attitude
• Be a strong team player with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
