Job Description
Salary: Grade E (NSP 15) FTE £30,024 per annum. Actual salary £17,818 per annum
Contract: 31.25hrs, 40 weeks per year, Permanent
We are looking for a well-qualified & highly competent person to join our team as a Parent Support Advisor & SEND Assistant. This is a vital role within the school & provides a crucial link between families & school focused on ensuring that all children are enabled to thrive emotionally, socially & academically.
The successful applicant will work closely with school colleagues to ensure positive outcomes for pupils through engaging with families to break down barriers that may be preventing full engagement in their child’s education. You will be the school’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & work closely with other school safeguarding officers & external agencies.
This position would suit someone with significant experience in an educational setting & a secure understanding of local agencies, processes & organisations that provide support to children & their families.
The successful candidate should:
- have experience of working to overcome barriers to learning & well-being & enabling greater engagement of families with school & related services
- have experience of a child centred approach to providing & procuring support
- be able to develop links with a wide range of stakeholders: children, parents, governors & the full range of outside agencies who work closely with the school
- be capable of dealing with sensitive, confidential issues & complex & challenging case work
- have excellent written & verbal communication skills & interpersonal skills
- be open to advice, feedback & guidance / direction from colleagues
- be interested in & willing to take on CPD opportunities to extend their skill base
