We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and values-driven Executive Headteacher to lead our two distinctive schools in the heart of Plymouth. This is a career-defining opportunity to transform lives at scale, shaping the futures of hundreds of young people and embedding social mobility at the heart of a strong and ambitious community.

This leadership position is ideal for an experienced Headteacher ready to extend their impact. You will lead across two complementary schools: Stoke Damerel Community College, a vibrant 11 - 18 comprehensive, and Scott Medical and Healthcare College, a specialist 14 - 19 studio school. We are unapologetically ambitious. Your focus will be to build on recent improvements and drive both schools into the top 1% nationally for student progress.

As Executive Headteacher, you will:

  • Set the strategic direction: Shape and deliver a clear vision where every student benefits from consistently excellent teaching.
  • Build a unified culture: Champion a community rooted in hard work, kindness and high expectations.
  • Lead through collaboration: Work closely with the Trust Executive team and Education Director to accelerate school improvement.
  • Use your professional judgement: Apply our “adopt, adapt or advance” approach to make the best decisions for your schools, supported by strong central Trust services.

You will be a visionary and principled leader with a strong track record of success at senior level.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Ambitious and innovative: Ready to bring fresh thinking and drive continued improvement.
  • Emotionally intelligent: Able to build strong relationships, develop others, and lead through trust and empowerment.
  • Committed to excellence: Passionate about raising standards and delivering a broad, inclusive and high-quality curriculum.
  • Strategic and decisive: Confident managing complexity while keeping student outcomes at the centre.
