Plymouth Learning Partnership is seeking a qualified & fully registered, dynamic, child-centred Creative Arts Therapist/Play Therapist to join our multi-agency team. The role involves providing therapy to children in school settings & potentially working with parents.
You will specialise in providing individual & group therapy to children who are facing significant emotional & behavioural challenges. This role involves conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, & maintaining clinical documentation. You will work either based in schools &/or peripatetically within the Multi-Agency Support Team.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing a caseload of clients with complex needs & serving as the key worker for cases assigned through the school link person or during weekly MAST panel meetings. You will design & deliver evidence-based clinical programs & interventions to support vulnerable children, with the goal of preventing their issues from escalating & requiring more specialised services, such as CAMHS or children’s social care.
This position requires close collaboration with schools, children, parents & various agencies at both operational and strategic levels. It is a highly specialised role aimed at autonomously delivering targeted support to children, young people & their families.
It is essential to be a member of one of the following organisations: the British Association of Drama Therapy (BADth), the British Association of Arts Therapists (BAAT), the British Psychodrama Association (BPA), or the British Association of Play Therapists/Association of Play Therapy (BAPT/APT). Additionally, all applicants must be registered with a relevant governing body, such as the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
You will demonstrate, as required by the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and UKCP, ongoing personal reflection around key competencies & continued CPD by participating in training, learning log or research opportunities.
