Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Start Date: September 2026

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an outstanding Teacher to join us at Woodlands School—an inspiring, modern and fully adapted learning environment designed to help our pupils thrive. Woodlands is a foundation special school serving nearly 100 children and young people aged 2–19 with complex physical, sensory and medical needs.

About the Role - This is a varied, challenging and deeply rewarding role. You will contribute to high‑quality, individualised teaching and play a key part in delivering a holistic daily programme focusing on independence, postural management and health management.

As a Teacher at Woodlands, you will:

  • Plan and deliver individualised learning that meets the complex needs of each child
  • Lead and manage a class team, ensuring high standards of practice every day
  • Work closely with multi‑agency professionals to support pupils’ physical, sensory and medical needs
  • Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Ensure progress is well planned, assessed and monitored
  • Contribute to school improvement and lead on a curriculum area

Our pupils have a wide range of sensory needs, so you will be supported to learn strategies that help children make the very best use of their vision, hearing and tactile abilities. Every pupil has an EHCP, and our teaching is responsive, dynamic and always centred around their individual goals.

About You - We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Primary teacher, with strong Early Years and Key Stage 1 knowledge
  • Skilled and confident in leading and managing a team
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and committed to ongoing professional development
  • Resilient, positive and ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of special school education
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication with staff, families and multi‑agency professionals
  • Experienced in supporting children with complex needs (highly beneficial)
