MPS/UPS (potential TLR for ‘Assistant Head Of Sixth Form’ available for experienced candidate)

We are looking for an exceptional Teacher Of Social Sciences to join our team for September 2022. At Marine Academy we deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that is cohesive, cumulative and highly sequenced. The curriculum is academic, rigorous and challenging. It has been designed with long-term memory in mind; students’ knowledge, skills and understanding are cemented by frequent and systematic revisiting.

As a teacher at Marine Academy your time will be highly valued. You will not be expected to mark homework- this is already planned and set for you.  You will not be expected to attend pointless meetings- our meetings have specific foci, and only happen on a Monday. You will not be expected to handwrite feedback to students. Your lesson observations will not be graded but feedback will help you improve.  Your lessons will not be disrupted by poor behavior and we will remove students who cannot follow our rules so that you can get on with teaching.

The Social Sciences are an increasingly popular part of our curriculum, particularly in Sixth Form. We offer Sociology, Criminology and Psychology at A-level and your ability to plan for and teach these subjects to A* level will be crucial. You will be part of an experienced and welcoming Social Science & Enterprise team and surrounded by like-minded, ambitious colleagues.

The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and operate in accordance with the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. All applicants will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service check before an appointment is confirmed.  This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. The Trust is committed to ensuring that our employees are able to achieve their full potential in an environment offering dignity, respect and equality of opportunity.
