Lifeworks College is a small, independent, specialist Further Education College for students with learning disabilities and we are looking for a Job Coach to support them in achieving their career ambitions. If you’ve a background of working with young people with learning disabilities/challenging behaviour, and qualifications that support your experience, this could be a great opportunity for you.

As a Job Coach, you’ll be tasked with working with the young people to help them understand the world of work and enable them to pursue their ambitions and gain sustainable employment. You’ll support and instruct them regarding job roles, enable them to understand the principles of career building and help to tailor training and coaching to meet their needs as well as building relationships with local employers to develop opportunities and drive professional experiences, placements and internships for college attendees.  Your role will be focused on providing the young people with experiences and information about professional life and to help them achieve their goals.


You will need: Experience of working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities and/or complex/challenging behaviour, Experience of working with individuals and groups of young people, Level 3 Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners, Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel, Experience of TEACCH and/or Systematic Instruction or Supported Employment models, A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle that can be used for work purposes

You will be friendly, approachable, highly motivated, proactive and influential, with a structured and methodical approach, the ability to build relationships with others and believe in supporting young people.
